Hybrid Essay
Have we all had those writing assignments that at first hearing about it sounds like a drag but the more you start writing about it the more you tend to like it? That’s exactly what happened to me when writing my blogs. At first, when I heard of this I was excited but didn't know exactly what to expect. But the more I posted the more easily it started feeling. Don’t get me wrong I love writing it’s my passion but I never really understood how to successfully write a piece of writing electronically until the blogs came along.

I've never written a blog before so when I heard of this assignment I was both curious and doubtful. I was curious in the sense that I was really looking forward to seeing how this will turn out but doubtful because I really didn't know what to do. The blog we were assigned had to include photos, videos and any other sources that we found useful to our topic. We each had the opportunity to pitch our blog idea and if approved we can start posting away. The posts all had to mesh together to be able to tell a special kind of story to the audience and make sure that it’s relevant to your blog topic. My blog topic was optimism I chose this because wanted to be as helpful to those who are having a bad day as possible. I wanted to prove that optimism is a state of mind and if we think bad thoughts bad things will happen kind of a sense of you bring your own misfortune with your negativity.

In my blog I included a bunch of articles, photos and videos and most importantly my opinion. Because I had to reinforce my point in many posts I added. All my posts had a different story to tell and it was up to me to unravel that story and explain it to my audience. The more I researched for my blog the more intrigued I became with my topic. Before my blog I just thought of optimism as something you had to work on everyday which is partially true. But, after the research I soon learned that there are different methods of being happy. As in, there are different ways to think positive and different results that make you smile. Everything affects us whether we like to accept it or not it’s true. We are all human and express our emotions differently. There are just some of us that prefer to not express our emotion because that will make us seem weak just as the saying goes that “ Real men don’t cry” this isn't true because we all feel were not made of stone where nothing phases us. That’s why I felt strongly towards my blog because although we all have those days or times were times are extremely tough and we hate everything and everyone having a grudge isn't going to help anything.

I will admit that throughout my blog I did find some articles that argued my point and contradicted my point of view. But, these articles really didn't pose that much of a threat as I thought it would because they all had similar points of views.  They all shared that being optimistic isn't all it’s cut out to be. What I mean by this is that being optimistic doesn't always bring joy into your life and in some instances that is true but it all depends on the person.
Thanks to Project media I learned even more about electronic writing; where I learned that you can post a range of documents to the post ranging from a picture to another website thanks to the URL or HTML. All you have to do is add the link to where it is required and you can easily upload what you please. Thanks to this, writing electronically became a lot more useful and a lot easier to prove my points.  Electronic writing helps reach the audience more by you having proof to back up you r point especially like pictures or videos that support what you are trying to prove or are talking about.

When you use any source of media you automatically show a better presentation of your topic and provide a better painting of the picture to the audience so they can better grasp what you are trying to portray. Project media helps you better understand that with the help of the different ways of electronic writing that you can prove your point and make a great argument or a great source of writing if you use the right tools electronic writing will be a breeze.

Being happy all the times is neither easy nor required on a daily basis but if you see everything as bad nothing will ever get better. Life is a beautiful struggle where we need to stand strong everyday and be ready to face it head high and show it that you are in control of your life. Here’s a poem I found that may help see what I’m trying to say:
Stand Strong
© Sammy Kisinga Mwangangi

When things seem difficult miserable
Life is turning away from you
Intimidated and worn out you remain
In darkness at a corner you examine
Watching the sky as it disappears
Reminding the lost beloved ones
How beautiful and caring they were
Vanishing without saying goodbye
Shortening your long life span
And leaving you destitute and lonely
Deeply you wonder
How life can really be unfair
To honest and good people like you
But all you let go off
And focus to mend your life
And strengthen your heart
With good and caring friends on your side
Opening the picture of brightness
Knowing GOD holds your hand
Leading you to your success
Stars embracing the whole sky
And you know your journey has started
In pursuit of your purpose
Slowly matching from dusk to dawn
With smiles and determination
In whispers you read your heart
ALWAYS STAND STRONG

If this poem doesn't prove my point then nothing will. Overall, I had a great experience writing my blog it was fun and easy to do. It made me realize that there is more than one writing style and just because you find a new one it doesn't necessarily mean it would be a bad one. I found this type of writing enjoyable and found a new and better way to express myself.
